“Rise Again: Tulsa and The Red Summer” is a new documentary about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre that killed hundreds of Black residents and destroyed a thriving community. Directed and produced by Dawn Porter, the film follows Washington Post journalist and Oklahoma native DeNeen L. Brown as she reports on the search for a mass grave in Tulsa and the years of racial violence that preceded the massacre. On Thursday, June 17 at 2:00pm ET, Washington Post senior critic-at-large Robin Givhan speaks with Brown and Porter about what happened, the continued calls for justice for victims and survivors, and the lessons of history for today.
